Description
The English word Lodge, a temporary house by definition, is now part of our vocabulary in Portuguese, a reflection of the times we are living in. Made for one family only, the capacity of this kind of centennial houses is tested, whether they can adapt into tourist accommodation. The author of this transformation, Ren Ito, is a Japanese that came to Portugal in 2003 for a short stay and ended up staying to this day. He has become for some years now an agent of transformation in the city. This work is symptomatic of this recent movement of people in transit in Porto, of how they see our reality and the permanent marks they leave by passing through.
