Description
The Porto islands, mainly the S. Vítor ones are a study theme about the transformation of the city. It is known that this precarious form of housing still persists today and this example, by author Bernardo Amaral, reminds us that there is still a lot to study, discuss and learn. This island, revisited, is an example of chirurgical intervention, where small constructions were demolished to reveal the original structure of exterior common spaces. In the same few compartments where before several families lived, united by an exterior corridor, the frontiers between sleeping, eating, cooking and bathing spaces are now blurred. A small community was created here, that proposes to question what it is to live together.
