Description
At Serra do Pilar, and nearby Barrack and Monastery, there’s also space for science. The meteorological observatory, placed in the middle of a huge garden, just got profound improvement works that makes us think that this space could have an important role in the life of the city. The view from the roof is surprising but there are other secrets to find out: from the records of weather since the end of the 19th Century, to a American bunker that listened in to the vibrations of earth during the soviet nuclear tests that warmed another climate – the political -, in Cold War times.
