Description
The sets for a theatre are always a simulacrum of another reality, hiding its fragile and precarious materiality. In these workshops, by Paulo Providência, sets are built a few meters away from S. João Theatre. The façade is everything but light, and game and illusion are present: the stone-like panels that seem to move, or the walls that in the end become doors. The rigorous sensibility of this project adds contemporary value to the extraordinary heritage of the theatre building. This visit is also an opportunity to get to know some secrets on the construction of a show.
