Description
Álvaro Siza’s first work, designed even before he had graduated, is the portrait of a time when the teaching of architecture would extend itself in the offices of the masters. From this first built exercise, we can see what the posture of the most important name in Portuguese architecture throughout his career would be: even though they form a group, each one of these houses is an opportunity for the architect to experiment with different project themes, materials and references to history, without ever giving up creating new things. It is exciting to get to know this house, still inhabited by its original client, and once again celebrate Álvaro Siza that, in more than 60 years of work, is still a student of architecture.
