There are streets that deserve to be seen from the back. Bandeirinha Street is one of them. Four architects, business partners and friends, António Portugal, Anne Vermeille, José Maria Reis and Isabel Sereno, found a property too big for just one house, or even two. They decided, because of that, to join the common office with the houses. The building’s width was divided in two halves, exactly symmetrical. Each house develops in several floors, always around a central body. All designed with exemplary detail, each floor has a function and the rooms have no doors. The two families share the wonderful garden, the continuation of the Virtudes romantic garden: an unexpected platform with a breath-taking view of Porto, the city and the river.
